Anna Pierce - Professional International Rider
My story is like none other. No one in my family rode or owned horses, but I was destined to ride these incredible animals. When I was only two-years-old, I attended a neighbors birthday party and there were pony rides! I instantly gravitated towards the ponies and didn't leave their side. After that day I begged my parents to take me to ride the ponies everyday until I was 4 years old. We had finally found a barn that would accept me into their riding program! When I was 4 years old I knew I wanted to be a professional rider! I competed at my first show when I was 5 and have never stopped since!
I made the best decision of my career when I was 10 years old. That decision was to switch to the discipline of Three-Day Eventing! Eventing is a comprehensive discipline with the goal of finding the most all around horse and rider. To do that they created a format where you have 3 riding tests, a dressage test, show jumping test, and the best part - a cross country test!
Since switching to Eventing I have been fortunate enough to compete all over the country, ride in the North American Youth Championships, work with many amazing trainers and horses, and reach the highest national level of Advanced. But my story doesn't stop there! I have lots of goals and plans for the future such as representing my country in the Olympics and World Equestrian Games, winning individual and team gold medals in those competitions, inspiring the future generations of equestrians to not only strive for greatness, but to also be outstanding horsemen and women, and to continue to change our sport for the better.
During the global pandemic that hit the world in 2020, I decided to diversify my riding, create new goals, and become a more comprehensive rider. I dove in to my Dressage training, and created my goals of earning my medals in Dressage and have since earned my Bronze and Silver medals!! On a complete whim, I also chose to fulfill a life long dream to compete in Barrel Racing and purchased my first barrel horse!!! Since then we have competed in races all over Texas including the WPRA Rodeos at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo!! I have officially begun my journey as a Professional Barrel Racer!!! In the summer of 2022 I decided to take lessons from a Reined Cow Horse trainer to improve my barrel racing. I have now added the discipline of Reined Cow Horse to my schedules and have competed in my first Stock Horse of Texas competition with plans of competing at the National Reined Cow Horse competitions and American Quarter Horse Association's World Championship in 2023!!
I firmly believe that diversifying myself in many disciplines and styles of riding has immensely improved my riding and overall horsemanship!! I have always said that you can learn something from every discipline, on and off the horse, and it has truly been showing on our show results!!
